During their lifetime most men will suffer to varying degrees with Male Pattern
Baldness which is where hair thins or is lost from the front, top and crown of
the head leaving the back and sides with full thickness of hair, this is
genetically predisposed.
The male hormone testosterone affects receptors in the hair roots causing
the hair to be lost. The hair at the back and sides do not have these receptors
and therefore are not lost and can be redistributed into the area of hair loss.
Some women can follow a similar pattern to men and can also be helped by hair
transplant but other causes should be examined first.
